The rules for using this site. They’re short, and we’ve tried to keep them plain.
Agreement
By using Five Letter Word Finder (“the site”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Using the site
The site is free for personal use, including for games, puzzles, teaching and writing. You may link to any page. Please don’t:
- use automated tools to make large numbers of requests or copy the site in bulk;
- try to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting;
- present the site’s original content (guides and page text) as your own, or republish it in bulk;
- use the site in a way that breaks the law or the rules of a competition you’re taking part in.
The word list and our content
The underlying word lists are ENABLE, which is in the public domain, and SCOWL, used under its permissive licence (Copyright 2000–2018 Kevin Atkinson). The site’s design, code, guides and other original text are owned by the site operator. You may quote short passages with a link back.
No guarantees
The site is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee that it will always be available, error-free, or that any word it lists will be accepted by a particular game, dictionary or competition. See the Disclaimer for more.
Advertising and links
The site may show advertisements and link to other websites. We don’t control those sites or ads and aren’t responsible for their content, products or practices.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the site operator isn’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
