How Dordle works
Dordle is two games of Wordle at once: you have seven guesses to find two five-letter words, and each guess goes into both grids. It was made by indie developer Guilherme Tows (Zaratustra Productions) and inspired Quordle and Octordle.
How to use the answer finder
- Pick Word 1 (left grid) or Word 2 (right grid).
- Type the green letters in place, yellow letters under the spot they were yellow in, and that grid’s grey letters.
- Read the list of answers that still fit, everyday words first.
Should you use two openers?
We simulated 800 Dordle games with pairs of past Wordle answers and a simple, steady solver:
| Opening guesses | Solved in 7 or fewer | Average guesses |
|---|---|---|
| RAISE only | 96.0% | 5.5 |
| CRANE, SLOTH | 98.0% | 5.2 |
| CRANE, SLOTH, PUDGY | 99.4% | 5.4 |
Two fixed openers gave the best balance of winning and finishing quickly. A third opener wins slightly more often, but leaves only four guesses for two words.
