How to use the Scrabble cheat board
- Copy the board. Tap a square and type the letters already played. Use the Type across and Type down buttons to choose which way the cursor moves, and the arrow keys to jump around. Columns are A–O and rows 1–15, like a printed board.
- Enter your rack. Up to seven tiles, with
?for a blank. - Press Find best moves. The top move appears in yellow on the board. Tap any move in the list to preview it, or press Play to put it on the board for your next turn.
Your board is saved in this browser, so you can come back to the same game later. Use Clear board to start a new one.
How the moves are scored
The cheat board follows the standard Scrabble rules for scoring:
- Letter squares (DL, TL) double or triple the tile placed on them.
- Word squares (DW, TW) double or triple the whole word. Two of them in one word multiply together.
- Premium squares count once: only for the tile placed on them that turn, never for tiles already on the board.
- Cross words count too. Every new word you form alongside the main word is checked and scored.
- Bingo: using all seven tiles adds 50 points.
- First move: it must cover the centre star, which doubles the word.

Tips for using the suggestions
- Look past the top score. A move a few points lower might keep better tiles on your rack, like an S or a blank, or avoid opening a triple-word square for your opponent.
- Watch the cross words. High-scoring moves often come from laying a word parallel to another, forming several short words at once. The list shows them after “also”.
- Check your game’s dictionary. Our list combines ENABLE with extra dictionary words, so a suggestion may occasionally be a word your game doesn’t accept.
Frequently asked questions
Is using a Scrabble cheat board allowed?
In casual games with friends, that’s up to the people you play with. In tournaments and rated online games, outside help isn’t allowed. We built this for practice, learning and settling arguments after a game.
How do I mark a blank tile that’s already on the board?
When you play a suggested move that uses a blank, the blank is stored in italics and scores zero automatically. Letters you type yourself are counted at face value.
Why didn’t it find a move I can see?
The move might form an invalid cross word, it might not connect to the tiles on the board, or one of its words might not be in our word list. Check the board for typos too.
Does it work for Words With Friends?
Words With Friends has a different board and different letter values. Use the Words With Friends cheat board instead.
